SME Owners and the Work / Life Balance

A recent survey carried out by card payment provider First Data Merchant Solutions has found that two-thirds of SME owners claim that running a business is a 'constant challenge' with 44% of the 1,000 respondents having missed personal / family occasions due to business commitments.

The survey revealed that: - 11% have missed an anniversary - 10% have missed the wedding of a friend / family member - 20% have missed picking their children up from school - 10% missed their own birthday celebrations

Almost 40% of those surveyed claimed that running a business was harder than anticipated and 32% claimed that the experience was 'exhausting'.

According to the research, the most challenging tasks for SME owners are: - Managing employees (32%) - Accounting and tracking finances (25%) - Everyday admin (22%)

49% of respondents said that they found it hard to delegate certain tasks to employees because they wanted 'to be in control' of the business and 37% expressed concerns about taking time off.

Can you relate to the 25% of survey respondents who find accounting and finance related tasks to be the most challenging task in running your business? If so, complete the enquiry form below and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss ways we can help.
